the design

What the children usually see is the final product- in this case, the meal. Let them know first what veggies look like. Let them interact with the raw ones through sensory. What does it feel like? Soft? Hard? Rough? Smooth?
Then let them play with the cooking toy. Tell them that the main ingredient is veggies of the day. Make them imagine what the it can turn into some delicious plates. After interacting with the toy, it is time to cook a real meal with them.

After the meal is ready, let the children taste it, tell them that it is the same veggies that they saw earlier. Now it is soft! Ask them how it tastes. Sweet? Soft? Easy to chew? Tell them along the way- patiently- how nutritious it is.
If they are not willing to eat, be patient with them, and try again with something else. Children are better at eating raw vegetables but salads. Or you can start with their favorite fruits and make some popsicle sticks.
